The short answer
Botox is a botulinum toxin type A injectable that softens frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet by temporarily reducing muscle contraction. At our Asheville location, treatment is planned by Anita Dormer, MD from your own facial movement. Onset is three to seven days and the effect is temporary.
Send us a short note about what is bothering you and we will reply with available times. First appointments are always an assessment.

Asheville is the largest market this practice serves in western North Carolina, and Botox is the treatment most people ask about first. It is also the treatment where the gap between a good result and an obvious one is widest, and that gap is almost entirely down to assessment rather than product.
What that means in practice is that the appointment starts with watching your face move. Where the lines form, how strong the muscles are on each side and what you actually want to change all decide dose and placement. A standard unit count applied to every forehead is how people end up looking treated.

The Asheville list is broad because the city is. A large share are working professionals in healthcare and hospitality booking around shifts, which is why early and late appointments fill first. Another substantial group are people who have relocated here from larger cities and arrive with an established treatment history.
Preventative treatment in the late twenties and thirties is a more common request in Asheville than in the smaller mountain markets, and it is a conversation worth having properly rather than agreeing to by default.
Juvederm at our Asheville office and our Asheville Lip Filler treatments come up frequently in the same appointment. Whether they can be combined safely on one visit is decided clinically, not by preference.
If another location suits you better, our Wake Forest Botox treatments covers the same treatment.

Cost is discussed at consultation rather than published. The variables that decide it – treatment, area, product quantity and session count – are only known once you have been assessed, and quoting a figure before that would be guesswork dressed up as transparency.
Anita Dormer, MD sees you, assesses you and treats you. There is no handover between the person who made the plan and the person carrying it out.

Change usually appears over three to seven days and is settled by around two weeks, which is when a review appointment is offered. It is not an immediate result and should not be judged on the day.
The product is the same. What differs between providers is who assesses you and how the dose is planned. This is a physician-led practice, and the assessment is the part that decides the outcome.
Strenuous exercise is usually paused for the rest of the day, which matters in a city where a lot of patients head straight to the Parkway or the greenway. Specific advice is given at your appointment.
Botox relaxes muscle movement so the skin above it creases less. Filler adds volume under the skin. They address different problems and are often discussed together at assessment.
