The short answer
Microneedling with PRP at our Red Bank location pairs controlled micro-needling with platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. It targets overall skin quality, texture and the appearance of scarring across a course of sessions. Allow about an hour, as the draw and spin come first.

Allow about an hour. A small blood sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge before treatment begins, and that step is the one patients most often have not budgeted time for.
The appeal here is straightforward: nothing foreign goes into the skin. For patients who have reacted to products in the past, or who simply prefer that, it takes an entire category of concern off the table.

Microneedling with PRP pairs controlled micro-needling with platelet-rich plasma drawn and spun from your own blood, so no foreign material is introduced.
Detailed background on the treatment itself is on the main microneedling with prp page.

| Sensitivity to added products | Microneedling with PRP | The material is prepared from your own blood |

General skin quality is the leading reason patients book this in Red Bank – skin that looks tired and rough after successive shore summers rather than skin with a specific line problem. Acne scarring is the second.
Patients on blood-thinning medication need that reviewed before a draw is scheduled. Anyone who finds blood draws difficult should mention it when booking so the appointment can be planned around it.
Botox for Red Bank patients and Juvederm for Red Bank patients are the two treatments most often raised alongside this one. Whether they belong in the same appointment is a clinical judgement.

The cost conversation happens at your assessment, once it is clear what is actually appropriate. Treatment, area, product quantity and number of sessions all bear on it, and you will have the full figure before deciding.
Every plan at this practice is set by Anita Dormer, MD. Physician-led assessment is what allows a treatment to be declined when it would not achieve what the patient is asking for.
Background on the practice is on the who we are page.
Platelet-rich plasma, separated from a small sample of your own blood using a centrifuge, then applied to skin that has just been microneedled so it reaches the treated layer.
The plasma is your own, so reaction to a foreign substance is not a consideration. Standard microneedling risks such as redness, swelling and, rarely, infection still apply.
It is a course rather than a single treatment, with sessions several weeks apart. The number is agreed after assessment.
They address different things. PRP is weighted towards overall skin quality; radiofrequency adds a deeper thermal effect that also targets laxity. Both are discussed at assessment.
The treatment information above is consistent with the published guidance below. General guidance is not the same as advice about your own case.
